Printing
Today we are going to be working with the 'My Alphabet Shape Book'. We are going to be skipping ahead to letter D. You will need both sets of papers (As seen below) for this activity.
Task:
Trace the uppercase D's, continue printing them to fill the line
Continue on with the lowercase d's
Find the correct page that your child needs to cut out for the 'D' page (Dog in a Doghouse) -- As you can see, there are duplicates of the cutting page. You only need one set. The other set can be used to practice cutting (also if any major mistakes are made on the first set, these can be used)
Have your child cut out the shapes from the correct page - Dog in a Doghouse --- What is the name of each shape used? Triangle, rectangle, circle.
Glue them on to the printing page where the shapes are.
Colour the page
I decided to skip ahead of letter F and E in this booklet because the kids have already started those in their other books. If your child has some free time or would like to, they can complete the F and E pages of this book on their own time! - (I would love to go back and complete them as a class, but I don't want to fall behind!)
Take a picture of your child's work and upload it to Seesaw
Listen to the Jolly phonics song - Jolly Phonics Letter D
- Have your child do their best to follow along with the words.
ACTION: Beat your hands up and down as though you are playing a drum and say d, d, d..
Find the letter D card
- Cut out the letter D card
- Color the card
- Practice saying the letter sound
note: please keep these cards as we work through each letter.

Friday:
**Parent item OPTIONAL pick up! ** For next week's lessons (Oct 5-9) students will need to have a turkey page printed as well as a colouring activity. I have attached them below and will also be sending them in an email. If you are unable to print these pages out, please let me know and I will have them out in the bin for pick up at Lakeview Elementary School between 9-11:30 on Friday. If you have access to a printer at home, there is no supply pick up for you this week.
