Printing

Today we are going to be working with the 'My Alphabet Shape Book'. We are going to be completing letter Z today. You will need both sets of papers (As seen below) for this activity.

Task:

  1. Trace the uppercase Z's, continue printing them to fill the line

  2. Continue on with the lowercase z's

  3. Find the correct page that your child needs to cut out for the 'Z' page (Zebra at the Zoo)

  4. Have your child cut out the shapes from the correct page - Zebra at the Zoo --- What is the name of each shape used? Triangle, circle etc.

  5. Glue them on to the printing page where the shapes are.

  6. Color the page

Take a picture/video of your child while they are working and also of their work and upload it to Seesaw

Listen to the Jolly phonics song - Jolly Phonics Letter Z

- Have your child do their best to follow along with the words.

ACTION: Put your arms out at your sides and flap them like a bee, saying z, z, z, .....

Complete the letter Z card

Take a picture of your child's work and upload it to Seesaw

StoryBots letter Z video

Optional: Can your child draw a picture of an animal that starts with the letter Z?

Movement (pick one or all)

  • Letter musical chairs. Write letters on sticky notes and place on a chair. Play the music and when it stops say the letter you sat on. (This activity can have lots of extensions -- say a letter, that is what letter they have to find and sit on)

  • Play soccer. Use a laundry basket as a goal. If you are inside, use a beach ball (or something soft) instead of a soccer ball.

  • Puddle jumps. Place blue paper on the ground. Jump over all the puddles!

  • Have a clean up race. Play some music and see how many songs it takes you to clean up.

Exploration - Your choice!

Pick one to complete! (or complete them all!!)

  • Sort your toys or jewelry by color and size

  • Put a puzzle together with your family

  • Play go fish

  • Shaving cream write and draw. Draw numbers and shapes in shaving cream.

  • Shape tap. Someone calls out a shape then everyone walks around the room and taps the things that are that shape.
