Reminder!

- For class tomorrow students will need a glue stick and scissors for a little art project we are doing. The other materials for this project were included in the package you picked up this week.

Journal

Today in your journal, I want you to...

Tell me about one thing that you want for Christmas!

OR

Tell me something that you are going to do with your family over the holiday break!

Encourage exploration with letters... (don't tell them the letters) Please do not write for them or tell them what to spell, I want this to be a completely independent task!!

This journal could end up being a sentence, a couple letters, letters and pictures, or just pictures.

Post a picture on Seesaw!!!

Christmas Activities Booklet - Page #1

  • Count the items in each box and color the correct number below the items.

  • Take a picture of your completed work and add it to your Seesaw.

Movement (pick one or all)

  • Letter musical chairs. Write letters on sticky notes and place on a chair. Play the music and when it stops say the letter you sat on. (This activity can have lots of extensions -- say a letter, that is what letter they have to find and sit on)

  • Play soccer. Use a laundry basket as a goal. If you are inside, use a beach ball (or something soft) instead of a soccer ball.

  • Puddle jumps. Place blue paper on the ground. Jump over all the puddles!

  • Have a clean up race. Play some music and see how many songs it takes you to clean up.

Exploration - Your choice!

Pick one to complete! (or complete them all!!)

  • Sort your toys or jewelry by color and size

  • Put a puzzle together with your family

  • Play go fish

  • Shaving cream write and draw. Draw numbers and shapes in shaving cream.

  • Shape tap. Someone calls out a shape then everyone walks around the room and taps the things that are that shape.

Polar Express - Optional Story time

I told the kids I wanted to read them The Polar Express, but I couldn't find a 'Kindergarten friendly' version, since the book is around 10-15 minutes long. I did find this video of the book for the kiddos who keep asking!
